Historically, buyers don't pay for real estate agent services and their agents don’t get paid unless the transaction closes. It is the seller that pays for the listing and selling agents' commissions from their gain. We are not going to get involved in a discussion about what makes sense, since you can find plenty of opinions just about everywhere.
